Information on safety and usage restrictions

Varjelus has been developed to increase home safety during phone charging. Its purpose is to prevent and limit the effects of a potential phone battery fire, such as the spread of flames, excessive heat, and hot gas into the surrounding environment.

However, it is important to understand that no product can completely eliminate the risk of fire. Varjelus is not a government-certified explosion-proof safety box or a general fire-protection container for all materials. It is specifically designed to reduce risks related to overheating phone batteries and the possible fires they may cause.

What Varjelus does – and what it doesn’t do

• Varjelus helps limit the risks of your phone’s battery overheating while charging.

• It does not protect against other sources of fire, such as a faulty charger, damaged electrical cords or other electrical devices.

• The product does not prevent a fire from starting, but its function is to combat the spread of the fire and give the user extra time to react. In most cases, Varjelus completely prevents flames from escaping outside the casing.

• The case should only be used for its intended purpose: charging a phone inside it, with no additional devices, and ensuring that cables are not pinched between the covers.

About the material and handling

Varjelus is made of heat-resistant glass. Glass is strong, but it can break if dropped or subjected to strong impact.

• Do not drop the product on the floor or any hard surface.

• Before use, check the glass for cracks or damage.

• If the glass breaks, the product must not be used again.

Each Varjelus is unique. Due to the casting process and the craftsmanship, there may be slight differences in tone, air bubbles or surface variations in the glass. These are not defects, but part of the natural nature of the glass material and the unique look of the product. The silicone seal of the casing is installed by hand in Finland, and its execution may have some variation as well.

We do not generally exchange products for replacements due to the individual properties of the glass or silicone attachments, as we want to avoid wasting usable materials and natural resources, and to minimise unnecessary logistics and its environmental impact. Limitations of liability

Liability for the use of the product always lies with the user. We cannot guarantee that Varjelus will always provide 100% protection against fires. Varjelus improves fire safety, but we cannot guarantee that it will prevent or limit every possible fire situation. Fires are influenced by several factors—such as the charger used, the electrical grid, the material and condition of the charging surface, surrounding materials, and room ventilation.

Varjelus does not replace smoke alarms, inspections by electrical professionals or general fire-safety measures. We always recommend following official safety guidelines regarding the use and charging of electrical devices.

Responsibility and transparency

We believe honesty is the most important part of safety. Varjelus is designed to enhance protection — not create a false sense of security. That is why we want to be transparent about what the product does and where its limits are. We continuously improve our products based on the feedback we receive.

When used correctly, Varjelus offers peace of mind and adds stylish safety to your everyday life. However, keep in mind that it is only one layer of protection for your home.
